2025 isn’t over yet but we’re ready to celebrate some big wins!
As we head into the holidays and reflect on this past year, we remind ourselves just how much love, dedication, and community support has helped shaped us this year. While the year is still in motion, we are already immensely proud, grateful, and inspired by everything we have accomplished this year together. Here are some of the things we are celebrating:
The West Virginia Three
Until this year, all the kitties we have rescued have been from North Carolina. We got the call for three little kittens in (super) rural West Virginia that needed rescue! The trek was a little over 3 hours one way, but these sweet babies - two sisters and a brother - came back to North Carolina with us and have since found their forever homes!
Known as Shortcake, Creamsicle, and Toffee while in our care, each of these sweeties was quickly adopted into the best homes for them! We have received updates that Shortcake, now Charlie, loves her new brother, Finn, and is the happiest girl! Toffee, now Nova, has also found herself a sweet and loving family in Charlotte, Creamsicle too! We couldn’t be happier to cross boarders and save their lives.
Camilla: The Resting-Grumpy Faced Beauty Queen
Camilla came into our rescue back in 2024 when we got word of a potentially pregnant lady living in a business parking lot in a high-traffic area just outside of Raleigh. Our intake team went out and found her, and to their surprise, no trapping required! She hopped right into their arms and was purring and making biscuits instantly!
Once eligible for adoption, Camilla was at all of our adoption events. She received so much love an attention, and she gave so much of it back in return, but nobody had a forever home for her. Yes, she has a grumpy looking face most of the time, but her actions show you she is a lovebug and can’t get enough pets!
While none of those adoption events led to her forever home, we are so grateful her Dad found us and did a foster-to-adopt trial with her! It ended in a happy ending, where Camilla and Dad have found best friends with each other and are both so happy. Our hearts couldn’t be more full.
2024 was the beginning of something special.
In our first year, Never Less Cat Rescue stepped into the world with one goal: to make sure no cat is ever seen as less. We rescued 30 cats, found loving homes for 20, and provided medical care, safety, and second chances to every single one.
Here's a look at what we accomplished together.

Rescue Highlight of the Year: Anastasia
When Anastasia was rescued, she had one of the worst injuries we’ve ever seen—her paw was torn open, the muscle and skin shredded, and 12 maggots were embedded in the wound. On top of that, she tested positive for FeLV (feline leukemia).
But none of that changed who she was: sweet, gentle, trusting. Anastasia purred through her treatments, stole the hearts of everyone she met, and reminded us why this work matters.
Today, she’s named Newt and lives a cozy life in Seattle, Washington with a loving family and a furry sibling that is also FeLV positive.
Rescue Story of the Year: Bentley
Bentley came into our care after being found with a broken leg. As we worked to help him heal, we learned he was facing much more — a grade 6 heart murmur and symptoms of heart failure. Our team of vets partnered with a specialist in Durham, NC to prepare for advanced care, but heartbreakingly, Bentley passed before his appointment could take place.
In his time with us, Bentley was deeply loved. He was sweet, funny, and full of life, always eager to snuggle with his foster parents and play with his foster sibling, Kiera. Bentley was officially adopted by his foster family — the founders of Never Less Cat Rescue — and though his time was far too short, he knew nothing but love, safety, and comfort in his forever home.
Bentley’s story reminds us that rescue is not always easy, but every life matters. And even when we can’t change the outcome, we can change the experience — surrounding each cat with care, dignity, and love for however long they’re with us.
